Niccolò Machiavelli’s "The Prince" distinguishes itself in the Renaissance by treating politics as an objective science separate from ethics, advocating for pragmatic and sometimes ruthless approaches to leadership. Machiavelli's focus on the effective exercise of power, regardless of moral considerations, marked a significant shift in political thought. His work laid the foundation for modern political theory and introduced the term "Machiavellianism," reflecting its impact on both politics and philosophy.
