What are two ways that Americans can participate in their democracy?

The number one thing they can do is vote when they're of age. Voting can apply for anyone from a small position such as the mayor of a town, or a position with great impact such as the president.
They can also exercise their freedom of speech but protesting and petitioning against things they don't like. They can argue for rights of specific groups in a peaceful way.

-- Vote
-- Encourage, nudge, and pester others to vote
-- Volunteer to work for the candidate of your choice
-- Keep your representatives frequently informed of your opinions

Americans can participate in democracy primarily through voting and exercising free speech activism. Voting lets citizens choose their representatives and make decisions on important issues, while free speech supports advocacy and public discourse. Both are essential for a functioning democracy as they enable citizen engagement and influence over government actions.
