Answer (3)

so if you want to solve for x then 2y=x+3 subtract 3 from both sides x=2y-3
if you want to solve for y 2y=x+3 divide both sides by 2 y=(x+3)/2

You divide everything by 2. Your answer is Y=1/2 + 3/2

To solve the equation 2 y = x + 3 for y , divide both sides of the equation by 2. This gives you y = 2 x + 3 , which expresses y in terms of x .
