Can someone help me with this question?
Trapezoid TUVW is shown on the coordinate plane below:
If trapezoid T'U'V'W' represents trapezoid TUVW reflected over the y-axis, the ordered pair of W' is ___________. (Note: You must include parentheses, a comma, and a space after the comma when typing the ordered pair.)
I think that it's 6,2

Answer (3)

The reflection over the y-axis has a rule:
( x , y ) → ( − x , y ) .
From the diagram you can see that point W has coordinates (-7,2). Then using the rule given above, you can find the coordinates of point W':
( − 7 , 2 ) → ( 7 , 2 ) .
**Answer: **(7,2).

(-5, 6) would have to be the correct answer!

To find W' after the reflection over the y-axis, change the sign of the x-coordinate of W while keeping the y-coordinate the same. If the coordinates of W are (-7, 2), then W' would be (7, 2). Make sure to use the correct original coordinates for W to find W'.
