Population distribution and settlement in ancient Egypt was not entirely dissimilar to today. Most of the population was centered around the Nile River and the Nile River Delta. The Nile River was and is the source of life for life in Egypt so it created a centralized population center along its banks that has lasted for centuries.

The settlement locations and population distribution in ancient Egypt were primarily centered around the Nile River, which provided essential resources for agriculture and trade. The river's predictable floods created fertile land, allowing for population growth and the development of complex societies. Significant cultural and historical sites were also established along the Nile, which facilitated trade and communication between different regions of Egypt.
