I'm going to say that the statement is false. The reason I would say that is the fact that Latin is NOT a Germanic Language.

The statement that Latin is a Germanic language is false, as Latin actually belongs to the Romance language family. Latin served as the basis for several modern languages like French and Spanish, whereas Germanic languages such as English and German have different origins. These two language groups evolved separately from distinct historical and linguistic roots.
