Small claims courts provide a low-cost and accessible option for individuals to settle minor disputes, typically involving amounts under $10,000. They allow individuals to represent themselves in a less formal setting, making the legal process both efficient and straightforward. These courts mainly handle civil matters and do not adjudicate criminal or family law issues.
