1. The answer is 6. There are 6 basic principles of the preamble.

In order to form a more perfect Union

Establish Justice

TO Ensure Domestic Tranquillity

To Provide for the Common Defense

To Promote General Welfare

And lastly, to Secure Blessings of the Liberty.


This preamble explains why our Government became a republic. Along with the rest of the Constitution, It was written for about 6 weeks. This is also the reason why the founding father replaced the Articles of Confederation.
